How powerful is O’Malley?

Predictions: 5 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 6539th

Obviously it’s a fight and I expect Sean to land punches. Chito has good defense and knows how to block/roll. However, Chito always gets caught with long straight punches at least once in his fights. He’s always seemed to eat them no problem, so the question is just how powerful is Sean O’Malley?

I don’t think it matter how hard Sean hit??? I think Chito chin is one of the best in the sport, I’ll be shocked if Sean KO him

I can see Chito knocking out Sean more likely, Chito has his shortcoming, But his power and durability ain’t one of them, I also argue that why he getting away with the way he fights

I also don't think Chito is that type of desperate fighter that Aljo turned into after not being able to secure a takedown, it was as if he knew he was ******. This won't happen with Chito, he's patient and doesn't rush into and make mistakes, if anything he's a little lazy but this is 5 rounds so Chito definitely is more durable and never been finished in a fight as you said.

4-5th round will be where this is decided, I believe. I see Sean on the rise, and Chito kind of taking a decision loss here, as much as I wanna believe he can destroy Sean, which he can, Sean has improved a lot.

If you watch the fight, he couldn't get the first takedown, second round he couldn't get it and then had to throw a punch out of desperation, it's quite obviously as he closes his eyes and walks right into it that right hand.

He couldn't get his takedown, threw a punch while his eyes were closed, that's desperation my friend. You need to watch fights and understand that you don't throw a punch, close your eyes and take the right hand.

i don't think you understand that aljo's (and merab's since he's from the same camp) fighting style isn't aimed at them ACTUALLY completing their takedown attemps. they only care about keeping you humble with the takedown threat in order to nullify your striking, close the distance effectively and rack up cage control time with superior cage wrestling and continuous takedown attempts.

so with that context, aljo failing takedown attempts is actually a good thing for him as long as he's keeping his opponent with their backs against the cage - unless you also think merab was getting desperate against petr yan going 11/49 on takedowns? or desperate against aldo going 0/16 on takedowns?

the KO has nothing to do with his wrestling or him being desperate, he made a bad read on the feet and sean o'malley was prepared to capitalize on it. it just showed they're levels apart in the striking department, nothing more

Well, I agree but once he had not gotten the takendown, he seemed to abandon it and I saw it as desperation, but I'm glad to talk about it and I noticed he didn't continue to try and take him down, he seemed to abandon it and severely left himself open in a very amateur way, but the striking was where Aljo was forced, but we see things differently and that's fine.

Holy **** I didn't realize Merab literally shot 49 takedowns in that Yan fight. I remember it being a comical amount watching the fight but looking back on the stat line and seeing 11/49 is nuts.
